Arrest

Dear Residents,

#ARREST | A man is in custody this morning, accused of theft from a Merry Hill supermarket yesterday (15 July).

Our officers were called last night after a man had twice been seen to visit the store and pick up electrical items and leave without paying.

The man initially left with a stolen TV and vacuum cleaner and was then stopped when he returned later in the day and tried to take a sound bar and second vacuum cleaner, but was stopped by security and police were called.

A 28-year-old man was arrested at the premises and brought in for questioning, accused of two counts of theft. He remains in custody this morning.

Tackling business crime and issues in our busy High Streets and shopping areas remain a priority for us as we work to make Dudley safer this summer as part of the national #SaferStreetsSummer initiative. People will see increased police presence, stronger prevention and enforcement action this summer.

If you have information about local crime, call us on 101 so we can act to make Dudley safer for everyone. #HereForYou

Thank You
